Position
Timothy Christian School’s Development Director must have an understanding and passion for Christian education. This position must be a self motivated individual as well as a proven visionary that possesses a high level of energy and will be expected to cultivate and sustain contributed funding in support of the school’s mission. Additionally, this person is responsible for the recruitment of students for admission to Timothy Christian School. This person must be a mature believer who reflects the purpose of the school to honor Christ at all times.
Required Spiritual Qualities

- Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God – our standard for faith and practice
- Believe and actively support the school’s statement of faith
- Demonstrate a desire for spiritual growth as evidenced by his or her prayer life, Bible study, and spiritual outreach to others
- Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40). This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct
- Evidence the fruit of the Spirit and biblical principles in dealing with people
- Actively participate in a local evangelical church
Required Professional Qualities
- Have knowledge and understanding of funding for nonprofit organizations and the organizational skills and ability to work with people, projects, and resources
- Demonstrate a basic proficiency in word processing, creating and using a spreadsheet, e-mailing, managing databases, and accessing the Internet
- Have experience in making connections and establishing relationships within the local business community
- Maintain high standards of ethics, honesty, confidentiality and integrity in all personal and professional matters
- Have the ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors, and possess humility and a willingness to be a team player
- Represent the school within the community with integrity and honesty
- Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste consistent with school policy
Essential Job Functions
Fundraising
- Actively involved in supporting committee chairpersons for fundraising activities
- Manage annual giving, online giving, as well as special fundraising projects
- Manages strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relations
- Maintains contact with and develops grant proposals
- Develops a comprehensive planned-giving program as the need becomes appropriate
- Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
Fund Development
- Establish and oversee a database to track relationships, such as those involving donations, pledges and alumni donors
- Coordinates development research activities
- Oversees the management of databases and all records, files, and gift processing
- Maintains working relationship with board treasurer on all fund development strategies
- Seeks ways to strengthen and grow the TC endowment fund
Public and Family Relations
- Promote the school by developing appropriate marketing tools, including advertising, brochures, social media, newsletters and the school website
- Plan, promote, and implement programs to build strong relationships with families, alumni, churches and corporations within the community
- Attend Board meetings and provide reports to the Board and key constituencies
- Plan, promote and lead the recruitment of new students along with the administrator
Donor Relations
- Manages and maintains the donor database
- Ensures all donors are kept up to date with TC activities and events.
- Manages acknowledgement of all gifts to donors
