Job Purpose: Tiny's Milk & Cookies has one of the best coffee programs in Houston and Austin. Our Baristas care deeply about our culture and will provide a genuine sense of hospitality and exceed guests expectations by providing friendly, authentic, and enthusiastic experience with perfect service.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary job duties and responsibilities of being a Barista include but are not limited to the following:
- Must be passionate about food, ice cream, coffee, and pastries
- Must learn and be knowledgeable of the food and beverage menus
- Prepare retail area and barista bar for morning, afternoon, and evening service
- Must ensure all guests are well taken care of: monitoring quality control and guest satisfaction
- Ability to interact socially with guests in a polite and friendly manner
- Take guests orders, package food, drinks, and pastries
- Food handling, food prep and FIFO
- Learn standardized drink recipes and follow instructions
- Ability to use and maintain quality espresso machine
- Confident and professional salesmanship
- Cash handling of guests checks including credit card payments utilizing a POS system
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks effectively and quickly
- Follow recipes to maintain consistency
- Minimal food preparation to include the cleaning and cutting of fruit, prepping almond milk and cold brew
- Must adhere to sanitation and proper food safety protocol
- Answering and directing phone calls in a professional manner
- Close attention to detail
- Must always be 'pressed and tailored,' complying to the dress code policy
- Performs up to the company standards, expectations, and policies
- Perform other duties as directed

Qualifications: Tiny Boxwoods Productions require the minimum qualifications to successfully perform the position of Barista:
- Texas Food Handlers certificate
- Outstanding guest service skills
- Ability to memorize recipes and beverage lists
- Flexible availability in scheduling
- Capacity to multitask
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Prior barista skills encouraged
- Friendly!
Working Conditions: The incumbent will be working in a restaurant setting behind a bar and may be working in close proximity to co-workers. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, minor burns, slipping and tripping.
Physical Requirements: The incumbent is required to stand/walk for long periods of time. Incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be able to constantly move around in the kitchen.
