Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grant Writer contractor. The to join our team. ideal candidate will possess strong writing and research skills, with a passion for securing funding to support our organization's mission. This role involves crafting compelling grant proposals, conducting thorough research on funding opportunities, and collaborating with various departments to develop programs that align with potential funders' priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Write clear, persuasive, and well-organized grant proposals that effectively communicate the need for funding.
  • Develop budgets and financial reports to accompany grant proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funder requirements.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposal development and program implementation.
  • Maintain databases of grant opportunities, submissions, and reporting deadlines to ensure timely applications.
  • Monitor the progress of submitted grants and prepare follow-up reports as required by funders.
  • Assist in strategic planning efforts related to fundraising initiatives and program development.
  • Stay informed about trends in grant writing, funding sources, and best practices in the nonprofit sector.

Experience

  • Proven experience in grant writing or a related field is essential.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to analyze data and present findings effectively.
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial report writing is highly desirable.
  • Experience with technical writing and program development will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes related to fundraising is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in using databases for tracking grants and funding opportunities is preferred.
