Job Summary
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Daycare Teachers and Teacher Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. This position requires a strong understanding of early childhood development and the ability to create engaging lesson plans that promote learning through play. The Daycare Teacher and/or Assistant Teacher will work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of each child in our care.
Example of Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage creativity, exploration, and learning.
- Supervise and engage children in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive community.
- Monitor children's progress and behavior, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with team members to plan special events and activities that enhance the daycare experience.
- Stay informed about best practices in early childhood education and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a day care setting.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable.
- Skills in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to create a positive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children are essential traits for success in this role.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred but not required at the time of hiring.
