What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Dance Instructor position at Tippi Toes Naperville?
A Tippi Toes Dance Instructor travels to different locations throughout their territory to teach dance classes to children primarily between 2.5-8 years old. Candidates must have a love of children, an interest in being a part of early childhood activities and be confident in teaching young students. Responsibilities include traveling to a variety of dance locations, preparing for classes, teaching curriculum, and developing a positive rapport with all students, families, and school staff. Dance curriculum is provided.
Starting pay is $23/hr with $18/hr training pay. Classes are generally between 9-5pm Monday through Friday. We will work with you to schedule around your availability. Position Responsibilities:
- Reviews assigned curriculum and practices lesson plans prior to class (no choreography creation involved in this position)
- Follows all Tippi Toes curriculum, playlists, and lesson plans
- Comes to each class in proper dress code, and allows appropriate time for set up
- Teaches class with enthusiasm and positivity that encourages student participation, interaction, and fun
- Works with School Director to regularly add new students to current and future classes, maximizing attendance levels.
- Daily/weekly communication with Franchise owner regarding all pertinent class/student information
- Collaborates regularly with fellow Tippi Toes teachers
Position Requirements:
- Must live in or near Naperville, Warrenville, Wheaton or Lisle
- A background of working with or teaching children, or a desire of doing it
- Tenacity and self-motivation: high energy level, self-starter with a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate appropriately with children as well as school staff
- Performance background is a plus (dance, theatre, cheer, etc.)
- Must have a current driver’s license and access to a reliable car
- Must be willing to go through a background check
