What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coating Inspector (Wyoming area) position at TIR.HR?
GENERAL SUMMARY
Rely on expertise, knowledge, and technical qualifications to interpret written industry and customer standards, specifications, regulations, and site restrictions. Recommend or initiate direct actions required to meet and comply with all requirements. Identify issues related to the progress and quality of work performed by others and make decisions and recommendations required to satisfactorily address situations that involve staff of customers, contractors, and company employees both on and off the right-of-way.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify that the following work is performed in accordance with the client’s contract specifications and drawings, including observation of thickness testing.
- Observe the application process to ensure compliance with specified procedures and standards
- Monitor the application of coating, including type, thickness, and coverage.
- Evaluate the extent of any defects and determine the necessary corrective actions.
- Maintaining detailed records of inspections, including observations, findings, and recommendations.
- Assured all work is performed in a safe and professional manner.
- Verifying all coating is done according to adhering to all specifications and safety standards.
- Record and report material usage and waste.
- Adhere to and enforce safety policies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures relating to assigned tasks.
- Possess a deep understanding of various coating types, their properties, and the appropriate inspection techniques.
- Be able to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the coating process
- Knowledge of vender specifications for coating.
- Working knowledge of National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) specifications
- NACE CIP LVL I or higher
- Professional oral and written communication skills.
