We have an excellent opportunity for a Plant Attendant in Troutville, VA. The primary function of this position is to perform a variety of duties including: physical labor, operating heavy equipment and mechanical repair work. Position offers a competitive salary and opportunities for overtime as well as a comprehensive benefits package(medical, dental, vision, life and matching 401K).
Required Skills:
- Promote a “Safety First” mentality.
- Operate heavy industrial equipment as required.
- Performing general labor in many variations.
- Meet daily production schedule, document system performance as well as identify and troubleshoot problem areas and/or breakdowns of equipment.
- Provide feedback on process and safety improvements.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the Preventative Maintenance Program, Maintenance Coordinator and plant management.
Required Experience:
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Production Supervisor and other operators.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree in related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in operating industrial equipment required.
- Electricians’ Card preferred.
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical manuals and information.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Skill to troubleshoot equipment with strong mechanical ability.
- Ability to work rotating shifts; inclusive of weekends and holidays as required.
- Physical job requirements include working outdoors with exposure to heat and cold, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights as well as lifting up to 100 pounds.
