Accounts Payable / Purchase Order Clerk

Job Description:

Reporting directly to the AP/AR Team Lead, this position within the accounting department will be directly responsible for Accounts Payable and making sure Purchase Orders are processed. To succeed in this role, the candidate must be able to work within deadlines and juggle projects as required. This position involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Specific Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

• Manage purchase order system, match POs and packing slips to invoices and research and track open POs
• Handle all aspects of accounts payable including but not limited to maintaining accurate vendors files, reviewing invoices and coding, entering invoices into system, completing check runs, mailing checks, coding credit card charges, submitting positive pay reports and filing check copies and backup in a timely and organized manner.
• Research open vendor balances and missing invoices for department heads
• Identify areas to streamline processes for continuous improvement
• Assist with H2A payroll document review and uploads for new employees as needed
• Assist with analysis, research, ad hoc reporting or other related duties as requested

Qualifications and Skills:

• 3 years of AP and/or AR experience preferred
• Understanding of office administration and procedures
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Preferred working knowledge of computerized AP software such as FAMOUS
• Team player with excellent communication/interpersonal skills, attention to detail, accuracy and outstanding organizational abilities
