About the Role:
A Programmer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of software programs and applications that align with the business requirements. The programmer may lead a team of junior programmers in encoding, testing, and debugging software programs and applications. They are also responsible for holding client meetings, implementing new projects, proposing business solutions, and generally providing technical support to all personnel. Senior programmers work closely with other programmers, analysts, IT staff, and managers to understand system needs and develop solutions within set timelines and budgets. A senior programmer should have extensive knowledge and experience in programming, leadership skills, communication skills, analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
· Code Analysis and Review
1. Analyze code to identify any issues, inefficiencies, and/or areas of improvement
2. Evaluate the code for readability, maintainability, and performance
· Debugging and Troubleshooting
1. Diagnose and resolve bugs within the code
2. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the problem areas and provide solutions
· Code Optimization – identify opportunities to optimize the code to improve scalability, and performance
· Documentation
1. Document code analysis, findings, and any changes being made to the code
2. Create technical documentation of recommended solutions
· Coding and implementing
1. Push code to the testing environment, verify intended functionality
2. Modify code to comply with existing specifications
Candidate Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other information technology related field
· 5 years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining applications and programs using C# within a .net framework
· Experience with MySQL, Writing and optimizing SQL queries, Integrating databases with applications. Developing and implementing database stored procedures and functions
· Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) certified preferred
