Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Sebastian County Jail in Fort Smith, AR.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will assess, evaluate and coordinate mental health care for incarcerated individuals and formulate individualized release plans to ensure continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations of inmates for psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention
- Coordinate inmate care with Facility and Medical staff to address special needs
- Develop Individualized Treatment Plans for psychiatric inmates requiring intensive behavior management
- Promote linkages with community mental health agencies and support services for inmate care and coordination
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in social work, clinical psychology, psychiatric nursing or related field
- Licensed as a Social Worker, Marriage/Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Professional Counselor required
