Description
The Front Desk Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel's front desk, ensuring excellent guest service, and managing front desk staff across multiple shifts. They would also assist in overseeing other departments in the absence of the General Manager. This role includes handling reservations, guest inquiries, and complaints, while maintaining a smooth check-in and check-out process. The Front Desk Manager will also support administrative tasks, staff scheduling, and coordination with other departments to enhance guest satisfaction and hotel efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Services & Front Desk Operations:
- Supervise and assist front desk agents in providing exceptional customer service.
- Manage guest check-ins, check-outs, and reservations efficiently.
- Address and resolve guest concerns, complaints, and special requests in a professional manner.
- Maintain accurate guest accounts, billing, and payment processing.
- Ensure front desk procedures align with company policies and brand standards.
Staff Supervision & Training:
- Schedule, train, and oversee front desk staff across all shifts.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
- Ensure staff adhere to hotel policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new front desk employees.
Hotel Coordination & Communication:
- Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor room availability and communicate with the reservations team.
- Enforce hotel policies, including safety and security procedures.
- Stay updated on local attractions, events, and services to assist guests.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of hotel front desk or hospitality management experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Shifts: Varying shifts, including 7 AM – 3 PM, 3 PM – 11 PM, and mid-shift 10 AM – 6 PM
- Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Cash handling and financial reporting experience preferred.
