Job Purpose:
To work with prospects and customers of our distribution parts to grow the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is required to assure compliance of company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practice and company documented procedures (including but not limited to Quality Systems Regulations, ISO 9001/13485, government occupational health and environment regulations and statues)
Product Knowledge
Core Responsibility
-Learn Product lines and attributes.
-Knowledge of competing products
-Recommend new lines to management.
-Build relationships with key representatives and principles of lines.
Prospecting
Core Responsibility
-Work with Marketing on campaigns
-Host or attend sales and marketing events.
-Find leads for distributions.
-Contact warm and cold leads.
-Develop rapport with prospects.
Selling
Core Responsibility
-Present TLC Electronics and product lines we distribute.
-Identify selling opportunities.
-Design in or cross to our product lines on customer programs
-Obtain cost, apply margin, and present quote to customer.
-Follow through on opportunities.
-Build relationships with key people at customers that have frequent new opportunities.
-Meet and Exceeds activities and goals.
Administrative
Secondary Responsibility
-Attending internal meetings.
-Supply requested information including sales activities.
-Submit quarterly forecasts.
-Submit authorized expense reports in a timely manner.
-Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed with the company's CRM and other sales applications.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
-Ability to build rapport quickly to learn the most possible from prospects/customers.
-Strong verbal skills and written skills including presenting information and responding to questions from prospects and TLC team.
-Ability to work closely with many personality types in numerous environments.
-Strategic, creative thinking skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with customers and suppliers.
-Ability to analyze data, sales statistics and translate results using math.
-Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
-Must be self-motivated and self-directed while being a goal oriented and organized team player.
Qualifications:
Minimum
-Five or more years of selling experience of electronic/electromechanical products at a technical level.
-Able to relate to people at all levels, communicating both on a technical and non-technical basis.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams)
-Valid Driver's license and current auto insurance.
-Must be able to travel a minimum of 50% of the time. Mostly regional with several trips annually to other states.
-Must have reliable transportation
Preferred:
-Degree in related field
-Knowledge of electronic component distribution, wire, cable, interconnect or electromechanical sales experience, sales processes, technical presentation development and execution of presentations to small and medium size audiences.
-Five years' experience in wire & cable assemblies to Medical, Agricultural, Industrial, autonomous, and solar industries or market
Physical Requirements/Capabilities:
-Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and the ability to talk and hear.
-Ability to frequently sit for prolonged amounts of time, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm's length, climb or balance, stoop or bend, push, pull, kneel, and crouch as job requires.
-Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
-Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
