What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Technology position at TLC Engineering Solutions, Inc.?
The Director of Technology is responsible for overseeing the firm's technology strategy, operations, and projects. The Director of Technology works with executive leadership to grow the company through technological resources. You will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of software and hardware for our staff and clients, in alignment with TLC's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the creation and upkeep of the firm's technology strategy.
- Research and track emerging technological trends in the engineering design space that may affect the company. Consult with upper management on applicable technology recommendations.
- Research and develop company-wide initiatives to enhance technology infrastructure, drive innovation, and improve efficiency and project delivery.
- Ensure adherence to technology standards and best practices throughout the organization, including cyber security and product viability.
- Synchronize with Director of Information Technology to ensure a cohesive data infrastructure and the functionality of initiatives.
- Ensure that technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs for smooth, secure, and consistent technical operations, including supporting training and adoption processes.
- Establish and supervise a quality assurance process, including integration and system testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving technological innovation
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale technology projects and initiatives, preferably within a corporate environment
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with other departments to achieve company-wide objectives
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate future technology trends and their potential impact on the company
- Proficiency in evaluating and implementing emerging technologies
- Proven leadership and management experience, with a focus on fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Capability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and optimize resource allocation for technology initiatives
- Proven ability to develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with the company's strategic goals
