TM Fieldhouse is looking for a skilled Line/Prep Cook to join the culinary team inside our facility kitchen, TM Fit. As a Line / Prep Cook, you will be an integral part of the kitchen team, assisting in the preparation and cooking of food in a fast-paced and professional kitchen environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that food is prepared and cooked to the highest standards, following recipes and safety guidelines, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
1. Line Cook Responsibilities:
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
- Prepare food for cooking, following recipes and ensuring the proper portions and presentation.
- Cook dishes to order, ensuring food is prepared in a timely manner and to the correct specifications.
- Monitor food quality and presentation standards throughout the shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including counters, equipment, and storage areas.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met, following guidelines for food handling and storage.
- Work in coordination with other TM Fit/TM Fieldhouse staff to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and tools during and after shifts.
2. Prep Cook Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring ingredients.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
- Assist in the preparation of sauces, soups, dressings, and other dishes.
- Maintain an organized prep station, labeling and storing prepared items as required.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of the prep area.
- Assist in inventory management, helping with the ordering and rotation of ingredients.
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Culinary Arts education a plus).
- Proven experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
- Flexibility to work in various kitchen positions and adapt to different tasks as required.
- Ability to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of utilizing POS systems
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to promptly respond to on-site emergency calls.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced kitchen with high energy during peak hours.
- Work as part of a team alongside other cooks, and kitchen staff.
- Long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy items throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in hot, noisy, and fast-paced conditions.
Job Type: Part-time and Full-Time available
