Tower Technician I: This is an entry level position. You will be trained on the job with the appropriate skills to accomplish assigned tasks from the foreman and tower technician II’s. You will be report directly for the foreman, installing and and maintaining RF communications systems on cell towers, rooftops, water tanks, and other structures. Tower technicians work long and unpredictable hours. Overtime is expected and will be paid at time and a half after 40 hours. Travel is paid and throughout New England. Employees will be required to stay overnight as needed (Accomodations & per diems are provided for overnight stays). This position is primarily outdoors, and will require working in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities include:
- Successful completion of company safety training.
- Following instructions given from foreman to assemble and install RF components.
- Basic knowledge and use and of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
- Climbing tall structures ranging from 100-250' with a 30-50 lb. load.
- Ability to learn to analyze and troubleshoot customer technology under direct guidance and training of the Foreman or Tower Technician II.
- Ability to learn to operate sophisticated tools used to test and troubleshoot RF, DC, and fiber optic circuits relating to customer technologiecs under direct supervision and training from the Foreman or Tower Technician II.
- Ability to work in all types of inclement weather, from extreme heat to extreme cold.
- Recognize safety hazards, perform duties in a safe manner.
- Attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivelent.
- Possession of a valid driver license and ability to pass the Motor Vehicle Records check.
- Construction experience a must.
- Low Voltage or Electronics background is a plus.
- Experience rock climbing or working with ropes are a plus.
- Experience working outdoors year round is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
