Description
As a Content Development Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to design engaging training material, develop training courses, and deliver effective training programs that are directly responsive to critical business needs while using a diverse array of teaching strategies and instructional models (instructor led, computer based, etc.) to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, EHS professionals, and operations teams to enhance safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
The role will ensure alignment with strategic business objectives and maintain high quality standards in instructional design and development for all methods of program delivery and encompassing all segments of training at National Trench Safety including internal training for employees and external training for customers. Content includes, but is not limited to company products, ongoing sales development, driver and crane operator training, customer service, operations processes and procedures, customer management & engagement, etc.
The content developer must gain an understanding of business processes & system workflows, manage stakeholder expectations, have clear and timely communication skills, with an eye on quality, and the ability to manage ongoing projects. It will require significant multi-tasking, ability to utilize development software and willingness to take on various learning, development, training, and support responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop learning objectives, instructional materials, and training aids to support training initiatives while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Incorporate adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
• Design and develop training sessions through various formats, including classroom-based, hands-on workshops, virtual sessions, and webinars.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training gaps and develop targeted learning solutions.
• Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content by applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
• Incorporate multiple media elements into learning programs including audio, video, animation, simulation, interactive job aids, and other learning support resources.
• Recommend the best media based on learning objectives and business needs.
• Proactively collaborate and communicate with appropriate stakeholders to address more complex training to optimize organizational performance.
• Maintains awareness of current best practices and trends in training and organizational development through continuous education.
• Facilitates operational training with other internal experts/vendors as required
• Develops and implements measurement tools to demonstrate effectiveness of training programs.

Qualifications
Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Bachelor’s Degree required. Instructional Design, Training, Adult Education or related field learning certificates and credentials preferred.
Work Experience: 2 years, experience in design, content creation, or L&D role in in a fast-paced environment preferably in the industrial, construction, or rental space.
Travel required up to 10%
Very high proficiency with MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Teams
Software Operated: Proficient designing content using Articulate 360, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Knowledge and Skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, communicating clearly and concisely, and effective platform presentation skills
• Able to work effectively with all levels in the organization, and with external constituents/vendors
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects effectively/efficiently and perform comfortably in a deadline, fast paced oriented work environment
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to manage a full project life cycle independently, with an acute attention to detail
• Quick learner who can manage uncertainty, complexity, and evolving responsibilities
• Knowledge and experience in utilizing operational training models and assessment tools
• Understand eLearning systems and be proficient in content authoring tools
• Knowledgeable in education or training in adult learning principles and theories
