Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Management:
- Review and process worker's compensation claims from initial filing through resolution.
- Ensure all claims are accurately documented and meet regulatory and company standards.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, employers, insurance carriers, and injured employees to gather necessary information and documentation.
- Billing and Reimbursement:
- Prepare and submit worker's compensation claims to appropriate payers.
- Monitor and follow up on unpaid or denied claims, ensuring timely resolution.
- Reconcile payments received against claims submitted to ensure accuracy.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local worker's compensation regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to worker's compensation.
- Generate regular reports on claim status, financials, and other key metrics for internal review.
- Customer Service:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and claimants regarding worker's compensation issues.
- Provide clear and accurate information to clients and claimants about the status of their claims and any required actions.
- Handle any inquiries or issues with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in worker's compensation claims management, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of worker's compensation laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in healthcare billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
