What are the responsibilities and job description for the Institutional Marketing Coordinator position at Tobin Center for the Performing Arts?
The Institutional Marketing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating marketing efforts related to institutional departments, resident companies, and community engagement events. This role includes assisting with institutional public relations, collaborating with partners to ensure brand consistency, and supporting the promotion of the mission and activities of The Tobin Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Institutional Marketing:
• Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns for institutional departments, including the Gen Next Education Initiative, Development, and Community Engagement.
• Collaborate with institutional departments to ensure consistent branding, messaging, and integration of marketing goals across campaigns.
• Create and curate dynamic content to tell The Tobin Center’s story through all digital channels, equally representing our productions, education initiative and community outreach efforts, while maintaining a consistent social media voice and tone.
• Assist in donor, sponsor, and member recognition and relations, ensuring all marketing materials and communications appropriately acknowledge contributions, foster engagement, and actively promote membership opportunities.
Resident Company Marketing:
• Coordinate marketing and promotional efforts for all five Resident companies: Opera San Antonio, Ballet San Antonio, Youth Orchestra of San Antonio, Classical Music Institute, and The Children’s Chorus of San Antonio.
• Serve as a marketing liaison to resident companies, ensuring alignment with The Tobin Center’s branding and strategic
objectives.
Community Engagement:
• Assist in developing and coordinating the details of community engagement events, including scheduling, logistics, and
promotional efforts, in collaboration with the Front of House and other departments to ensure seamless execution.
• Support partnerships with community partners to enhance event visibility and attendance.
Digital Marketing:
• Support the creation and curation of dynamic content for The Tobin Center’s digital channels, collaborating with the marketing team to equally represent productions, education initiatives, and community outreach efforts while maintaining a consistent social media voice and tone.
• Respond to customers’ inquiries and complaints on social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.
• Manage updates to The Tobin Center’s website, serving as the primary point of contact for internal departments and resident company change requests.
• Develop social media and email marketing campaigns, crafting and scheduling emails to maximize reach and participation.
Public Relations and Media:
• Support public relations efforts for institutional programming by writing and distributing press releases, coordinating media interviews, and managing influencer partnerships.
• Assist in maintaining relationships with media outlets, influencers, and key community leaders to support institutional and community engagement goals.
• Pitch stories to media outlets to highlight The Tobin Center’s institutional and community impact.
Collaboration and Support:
• Work on special projects, initiatives, promotions, and other tasks as assigned by the Marketing Manager, Director of Marketing, or Vice President of Brand and Engagement.
• Collaborate with other departments, Resident partners, and talent representatives to coordinate marketing activities and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Effectively prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of marketing initiatives and campaigns.
• Ability to take direction while also displaying strong personal initiative.
• Utilize The Tobin Center calendar to track event dates, confirm spaces, and ensure proper scheduling and communication
with relevant departments.
Reporting and Strategy:
• Regularly report campaign performance metrics and provide actionable insights to the Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing to optimize strategies.
• Utilize analytics tools to refine strategies and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
