Position Description : MISSION

The mission of the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, a non-profit arts organization, is to provide a world-class venue that promotes a diverse range of cultural, educational, and artistic experiences that improve the quality of life in San Antonio. To fulfill its mission, The Tobin Center established Tobin Entertainment LLC to generate additional financial support for Tobin Center programs and ensure quality arts entertainment is available to the public in performing arts centers and other venues throughout the United States.

DESCRIPTION :

Situated along the banks of the San Antonio River in the heart of the city, the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts transformed arts in San Antonio. Its stunning architecture, creative interior design and lighting, exceptional acoustics, and blockbuster talent from around the world attracts widely diverse audiences from San Antonio and the region.

The remarkable flexibility of the 1,750 seat H-E-B Performance Hall, with its distinctive flat-floor capability, opens the door for performances and events of almost any sort. The acoustics can be tuned to fit the performance and the physical set-up of the performance hall; and the sound insulation throughout The Tobin Center enables simultaneous use of the Performance Hall, the Studio Theater, and the River Walk Plaza.

Audiences can see and hear performers and performances of every kind at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.

THE TOBIN CENTER INCLUDES THREE VENUES :

tThe H-E-B Performance Hall is a 1,750-seat performance space with excellent sound capabilities, adjustable for both acoustic and amplified musical presentations. The main floor converts from traditional theater seating to a flat-floor concept capable of seating more than 600 for banquet or cabaret style events or up to 1,050 for a general admission standing-room event.

tThe Carlos Alvarez Studio Theater is a 300-seat studio theater with numerous flexible-seating options and arrangements.

tThe Will Naylor Smith River Walk Plaza is an exterior venue along San Antonios River Walk that is ideal for films, concerts, and events. The plaza can accommodate seating for 600 people and includes a state-of-the-art 32-foot video wall.

TOBIN ENTERTAINMENT, LLC :

Tobin Entertainment LLC., the off-site tour and promotion division of The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, was created to generate additional financial support to drive meaningful change in San Antonio through Resident Companies, Generation Next, and diverse community outreach.

Tobin Entertainment partners with performing arts centers and other venues all over the United States to bring quality entertainment to the public. Tobin Entertainment LLC currently operates in 70 cities in 29 states nationally.

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Institutional Marketing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating marketing efforts related to institutional departments, resident companies, and community engagement events. This role includes assisting with institutional public relations, collaborating with partners to ensure brand consistency, and supporting the promotion of the mission and activities of The Tobin Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Institutional Marketing :

tSupport the planning and execution of marketing campaigns for institutional departments, including the Gen Next Education Initiative, Development, and Community Engagement.

tCollaborate with institutional departments to ensure consistent branding, messaging, and integration of marketing goals across campaigns.

tCreate and curate dynamic content to tell The Tobin Centers story through all digital channels, equally representing our productions, education initiative and community outreach efforts, while maintaining a consistent social media voice and tone.

tAssist in donor, sponsor, and member recognition and relations, ensuring all marketing materials and communications appropriately acknowledge contributions, foster engagement, and actively promote membership opportunities.

Resident Company Marketing :

tCoordinate marketing and promotional efforts for all five Resident companies : Opera San Antonio, Ballet San Antonio, Youth Orchestra of San Antonio, Classical Music Institute, and The Childrens Chorus of San Antonio.

tServe as a marketing liaison to resident companies, ensuring alignment with The Tobin Centers branding and strategic objectives.

Community Engagement :

tAssist in developing and coordinating the details of community engagement events, including scheduling, logistics, and promotional efforts, in collaboration with the Front of House and other departments to ensure seamless execution.

tSupport partnerships with community partners to enhance event visibility and attendance.

Digital Marketing :

tSupport the creation and curation of dynamic content for The Tobin Centers digital channels, collaborating with the marketing team to equally represent productions, education initiatives, and community outreach efforts while maintaining a consistent social media voice and tone.

tRespond to customers inquiries and complaints on social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.

tManage updates to The Tobin Centers website, serving as the primary point of contact for internal departments and resident company change requests.

tDevelop social media and email marketing campaigns, crafting and scheduling emails to maximize reach and participation.

Public Relations and Media :

tSupport public relations efforts for institutional programming by writing and distributing press releases, coordinating media interviews, and managing influencer partnerships.

tAssist in maintaining relationships with media outlets, influencers, and key community leaders to support institutional and community engagement goals.

tPitch stories to media outlets to highlight The Tobin Centers institutional and community impact.

Collaboration and Support :

tWork on special projects, initiatives, promotions, and other tasks as assigned by the Marketing Manager, Director of Marketing, or Vice President of Brand and Engagement.

tCollaborate with other departments, Resident partners, and talent representatives to coordinate marketing activities and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

tEffectively prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of marketing initiatives and campaigns.

tAbility to take direction while also displaying strong personal initiative.

tUtilize The Tobin Center calendar to track event dates, confirm spaces, and ensure proper scheduling and communication with relevant departments.

Reporting and Strategy :

tRegularly report campaign performance metrics and provide actionable insights to the Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing to optimize strategies.

tUtilize analytics tools to refine strategies and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS :

tBachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

tPassion for the arts and a deep understanding of the cultural landscape of San Antonio, including suburbs and surrounding communities. Theater / live entertainment / destination marketing field a plus.

tExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.

tPossess ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet short deadlines with limited supervision.

tProficiency in social media management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite), email marketing programs (e.g., Mailchimp,), and basic familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
