The Lead Bartender position exists to provide leadership behind the bar at all times. A successful Lead Bartender will have a full understanding of our Cocktail & Wine program and will assist the Bar Manager in bar inventory, ordering if necessary & help uphold bar standards. The Lead Bartender will set and example for the bar team at all times and assist with the implementation of new beverage items. This position will assist the bar manager in managing day to day beverage functions including special programed nights, new menu rollouts, trainings, and bar upkeep. The Lead Bartender acts as a liaison between bar staff and management to express discouragements and offer ideas and solutions that will lead the bar team to success. The Lead Bartender provides quality control by ensuring that prep standards are being met and that products being served meet Company standards and are in prepared in compliance with health and safety standards at all times.

Drive service standards for Bar Department
- Assist in guiding staff to accuracy and consistency encompassing all things beverage
- Overseeing quality control behind the bar
- Trainings for both new and current staff, assisting the bar manager
- Guides staff is practicing accurate pours and recipes
- Ensure steps of service are being met and executed by all bar staff, Bartenders and Barbacks
- Helps communicate menu changes, updates, and specials to bar staff as well as management

Day to Day
- Responsibility of liquor room; Cleanliness and organization
- Assisting staff in constant growth and learning by The Madera Group’s standards
- Assisting in continuous growth of knowledge and hospitality for all bar staff
- Trainings for any new hires
- Liaison between staff and management. Also between Bar and servers, bussers and runners
- Correspond any 86’d items to management as well as any other issues
- Cleanliness and organization of bar
- Make sure that opening and closing duties are being completed and standards are always met
- Communicates menu changes, specialty menus, or new protocols with bar staff
Ensure brand standards are maintained
- Ensure correct product is being used as specified by Beverage Director and on menu
- Relay any changes on menu to management and staff
- Proper back bar and well placement of spirits
- Oversee preparation of cocktails, making sure the right measurements and ingredients are being used.
- Cleanliness of all wells and organization
- Making sure that all items prepared properly by prep
- Help push staff incentive programs
- Building rapport with guests in order to build our number of repeat customers
- Assist in R&D sessions and Staff trainings
Inventory and Labor
- Overall responsibility and awareness of beverage cost
- Perform monthly inventory
- Inventory organization
- Understanding of ordering and receiving process
- Assist in ensuring safekeeping of invoices
- Assist with staff scheduling if help is needed
- Awareness of breaks and overtime
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail ability to execute at a consistently high standard
- Exhibit strong multitasking abilities and a sense of urgency and responsibility
- Posses a diligent work ethic
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Display the ability to forecast and anticipate the needs of our guests and the restaurant
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a Full Service, Fine Dining Bar environment
- Strong knowledge in cocktails, spirits and wine
- Available to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand for the duration of shifts
