Product Design Engineer

We are looking for a Product Design Engineer to join our Innovation team and assist with a wide variety of projects to create impactful solutions for our customers. A primary focus of this position will be rapid prototyping to make existing products better, design new products and accessories, and test new concepts and ideas.

This job is best fit for a self-starter who takes pride in their work and has a strong desire to continually take things to the next level by increasing their scope of knowledge and growing their skillset to better understand current problems and future needs. Additionally, this team member will collaborate very closely with other team members and departments, so will need to be a strong team player who is able to contribute to large and small projects and check their ego at the door.

Qualifications/Requirements/Physical Demands

• Strong skills and experience with rapid prototyping tools and techniques, including 3D CAD design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and 3D printing
• Has an understanding of commonly used manufacturing machinery and techniques
• Complete adherence to all confidentiality agreements and utmost respect for Toddy’s intellectual property and trade secrets
• Maintain a positive attitude, put people before problems, and value team victories over personal victories.
• Able to understand and interpret part prints/drawings
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong computer skills - able to learn new software and technologies that enable effective project communication and efficient use of time (examples: Basecamp, Google Suite, Gantt charts, MS Excel, flowcharting tools)
• Use the Internet to research challenging issues and find solutions
• Follow project plans and meet deadlines
• Learn quickly from failures and apply knowledge to future tasks and projects.
• Able to multitask, focusing on multiple projects at once
• Working knowledge of common material characteristics

Experience:

• 3D CAD Design: 3 years
• Product Design/Development: 3 years (Preferred)
• Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience in Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.

Special Demands:

• Some projects may involve the use of tools, machinery, and moving heavy objects.
• Some R&D projects may involve the use of hot liquids, cleaning solutions, and other chemicals (primarily for cleaning).

Compensation:

• Base salary range $73,500-$85,000 per year
• Paid Time Off and holiday pay
