Carpenter
Pre-employment physical and drug screen are required.
Carpenter responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Construct built-in-place or pre-fabricated wooden and/or metal forms for forming concrete structures such as: footings, columns, caps, abutments, bridge decks, box culverts, etc.
- Forming and setting barrier walls and new retaining walls, sometimes as high as 30’
- Assemble walkways and false decking
- Place form liners & texture on forms
- Place expansion joints to grade on bridge decks
- Set concrete beams
- Weld metal deck
- Drive sheeting and piles
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Working at heights with the use of mobile equipment and ladders
- Often required to stand, use hands to hold hand and power tools, handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear. Occasionally, the work requires the employee to walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Works safely near and around highway traffic and noisy operations
- Ability to lift or carry up to 30 or 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 100 lbs
