Director of Land Surveying
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Land Surveying to lead and expand our land surveying practice. As a key member of our team, you will oversee a diverse range of surveying projects and provide leadership in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

We are engaged in a variety of land surveying services, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction stakeout, as-built surveys, and digital surface modeling. Our team is involved in numerous large-scale projects across both private and public sectors in the tri-state area.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the VP of Surveying and Senior Survey Technicians to produce high-quality survey mapping, including boundary and topographic surveys, easements, subdivision plans, and project proposals.
- Perform boundary computations and assist with data analysis to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Supervise and assist in field crew management, including scheduling and preparation.
- Import and process field data for use in survey mapping and other project deliverables.
- Generate topographic maps using TIN surfaces, based on survey data, for various land development projects.
- Conduct thorough land record research for both subject and surrounding properties to support survey accuracy.
- Occasionally serve as a field crew chief, overseeing field operations and ensuring efficiency and quality of work in the field.
- Uphold company standards, ensuring compliance with all internal procedures and industry best practices.
- Mentor and train department staff on land surveying techniques, quality control measures, and safety procedures.
- Licensed Land Surveyor (L.S.) - (preferably in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island).
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 5 to 7 in a supervisory or leadership role within the land surveying industry.
- Proficient in Civil 3D software.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with clients and team members.
- Thorough understanding of field survey methods, procedures, and industry standards.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally serve as crew chief, including working in varying weather conditions and navigating difficult terrain while carrying survey equipment.
- Experience in preparing digital surface models for GPS equipment or site design is a plus, though not required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Consistently meet deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
