Stronger Communities New York (SCNY) is the parent company providing administrative support for both
Together for Youth (Canaan, NY) and The House of the Good Shepherd (Utica, NY). This position will be a part of SCNY and is based in Canaan, NY. The AR Billing Specialist will follow Together for Youth's (TFY) guidelines regarding benefits, compensation and all policies and procedures as outlined in the TFY employee handbook.
The financial analyst will be responsible for assistance with financial analysis, accounts receivable and billing.
Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively supports the Finance Department administrators to meet department and agency needs and goals, through job related responsibilities, work performance, and interaction with internal and external contacts.
- Assists staff to facilitate month end closing process in timely manner, and to uphold the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, in monthly account reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with other departments/programs to gather necessary information for billing purposes.
- Process billing information, verify accuracy of billing data and generate invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide support with monthly analysis reporting and meetings to stakeholders.
- Maintain all files related to billing and payments to provide accurate records for yearly audits.
- Perform ad hoc analyses, and assist team leadership with complex tasks, and projects.
- Assist with general office tasks and administrative duties as needed.
- Adheres to agency policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Associates degree with a concentration in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area; preferably in a mid-size non-profit organization.
- Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
- Skills: verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of management.
