Overview

The Women’s Imaging Center, a Division of Together Women’s Health, is seeking to add a Full Time Medical Transcriptionist and Data Records Clerk on-site to our team. There is some time flexibility in the hours of the position depending on our radiologists’ work schedule (day or after hours opportunity). Transcriptionists work closely with the Radiologist’s schedule to maintain the daily workflow. They must understand the importance of accurate and timely results to facilitate patient care and documentation.

Overview:

The Women’s Imaging Center is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Radiologist Transcriptionist and Data Records Clerk on-site to join our growing healthcare team. As a crucial part of our medical transcription department, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing radiology reports and other medical documents from audio recordings, chart/doctor entry, and entering the patient report into our EHR system. Issuing the referring physician and patient result letter, and updating the next follow up examination into our tickler system. 

Your role will contribute significantly to ensuring the precision and clarity of medical records, thereby supporting effective patient care and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe radiology reports from dictated recordings and canned reports including mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI, image-guided procedures and other imaging modalities.
• Update: breast density, follow up dates, surgical follow ups, and physical charts for each patient. 
• Review and edit drafts for clarity, accuracy, and grammar, adhering to departmental and industry standards.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify dictation and ensure completeness of reports.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all legal and ethical standards related to patient information and medical records.
• Prioritize and manage workload effectively to meet transcription deadlines and turnaround times.
• Stay updated with medical terminology, MQSA and advancements in radiology to enhance transcription accuracy, efficiency within a timely fashion.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist, specifically in radiology, with a strong understanding of radiology terminology and procedures.
• Proficiency in transcribing medical dictation using transcription software and word processing tools.
• Excellent typing skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in transcribing complex medical terminology.
• Knowledge of medical ethics, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare documentation.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. 
• Certification or diploma in medical transcription or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR systems is necessary. 
• Must be extremely detail oriented and understand the importance of accuracy when creating and delivering the files to the referring physician and the patient. This position requires the highest level of attention to detail and must be highly organized. 
• Must have reliable transportation and be dependable. 

Additional Information:

Compensation: $19-21/hr. Compensation is dependent on experience.

Salary : $19 - $21
