Position Summary
Brandner Design is seeking an Architectural Designer with strong SolidWorks expertise to develop precise technical drawings and designs for metal and wood installations. In this role, you will collaborate with designers, fabricators and field installation engineers to bring innovative architectural elements to life. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of fabrication processes, and the ability to adapt designs based on project requirements. Essential Duties Responsibilities
Develop technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
Oversee the design process from initial client consultation and drafting through final fabrication.
Translate concept sketches and architectural plans into precise fabrication drawings for client approval.
Prepare detailed production documents, including material specifications and assembly guidelines for fabrication production.
Review and refine designs based on fabrication feasibility, material constraints, and project requirements.
Collaborate with our design and production teams to ensure designs meet both aesthetic and technical standards.
Conduct quality control checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.
Adapt and update designs based on client feedback, project changes, or engineering requirements.
Maintain organized design files and project documentation for easy reference and revision tracking.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in Drafting Design Technology, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field, plus 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
High level proficiency in SolidWorks (required).
Experience with fabrication processes (metalworking, woodworking, or CNC machining).
Ability to interpret and create architectural drawings and construction documentation.
Knowledge of materials (metals, wood, glass) and their fabrication methods.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing high-end architectural elements, furniture, or decorative installations.
Physical Requirements
Regular use of office equipment, including a keyboard, mouse, copier, and printer.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Visual acuity to read detailed drawings and designs.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, including listening, speaking, and hearing.
Primarily sedentary work, including prolonged periods at a desk using a computer.
Occasionally work in a moderately noisy environment with background noise from radios, conversations, and office equipment (ear protection available if needed).
Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. unassisted and up to 25 lbs. with assistance (e.g., from a team member or mechanical aid).
