Job Summary :
The Marine Underwriting Specialist will evaluate risks and perform related activities in alignment with our company's goals and objectives.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Build and nurture relationships with Producers compliant with Tokio Marine Guidelines.
- Conduct marketing activities for respective Producers, including in-person visits and setting production goals, ensuring objectives are achieved.
- Generate new business and renew existing accounts per the established plan.
- Achieve target loss ratios by assessing risk acceptability based on underwriting guidelines and sound judgment.
- Manage a designated book of business in accordance with the company's underwriting standards.
- Review existing accounts and execute corrective actions as needed to ensure ongoing compliance and risk management.
- Make risk recommendations exceeding authority using established referral processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of new business, renewals, and endorsements.
- Issue quotations, policies, endorsements, and notices as required.
- Coordinate Loss Control surveys and recommend proper reinsurance when necessary.
- Foster collaboration between the Marine Department, AEOs, and producers to maximize opportunities for renewals and new business.
- Assist with inquiries and issues from Corporate Reinsurance, Accounting, and Claims departments.
- Contribute to the training of junior staff members, guiding them in developing their skills.
- Delegate and prioritize tasks effectively to meet departmental deadlines while reviewing the quality of executed work.
- Align producer plans, track performance metrics, and assess pricing strategy to ensure profitability.
- Support timely collection of overdue premiums, minimizing delays and assisting junior staff as needed.
- Streamline administrative processes wherever possible to enhance efficiency.
- Innovate and propose new business ideas and strategies to meet overall departmental objectives.
- Adhere to internal controls and compliance in all job functions and administrative activities.
Qualifications :
The salary range for this position is $120k - $155k, with the final offer depending on experience and geographic location. Additionally, we provide a competitive benefits package and eligibility for bonuses.
