General Summary:
Oversee all operations of the Oncology Pharmacy department
Dispense medication prescribed by licensed health care providers
Works under the supervision of the Executive Director, Regional Oncology Services
Managing Partner, Oncology Services
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
- Oversight of all oral pharmacy operations, including contracting, licensing, dispensing, and inventory management
- Oversight of Drug Repository program
- Direct oversight of infusion room operations at the Maumee location
- Indirect oversight of infusion room operations at the ancillary sites
- IV therapy dispensing
- Work with the Oncology department to develop and advise on drug therapy protocol through participation in Quality Committee and P&T Committee activities
- Educate patients about his/her prescriptions
- Maintain quality control and adherence to all regulation requirements, licensing and dispensing laws
- Oversee the security of the pharmacy and its inventory
- Oversight of patient assistance staff for oral therapies
- Oversight of 340B pharmacy operations
- Development and maintenance of oral pharmacy and infusion policies and procedures
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the infusion room master formulas
- Oversight of drug purchasing and inventory management
- Oral/self-administered medication prior authorizations and appeals
- Consultation with physicians, APPs, nurses, and other staff for medication inquiries
- Balance cash drawer
- Responsible for the integration of new service integration throughout the TTC Cancer Centers
- Works to engage new partners and grow the oncology services within the network of cancer centers
- Assists with developing new partners for service line growth
- Maintenance of TDDD license renewals for practice locations
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
- Assist customers at the cash register
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required:
- Maintain Ohio pharmacist license.
- Adheres to, and ensures department’s compliance with, the clinic’s policies and procedures.
- Maintains awareness of the department’s budget at all times and works within the budgetary figures.
- Interprets and reviews financials and offers explanation when expenses or liabilities are excessive.
- Establishes departmental goals and completes goals within established time frame.
- Effectively recruits, retains, disciplines and trains staff.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
Preferred:
Previous oncology pharmacy experience preferred.
Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
