Hours: Monday - Friday, No evenings, No weekends, No holidays
General Summary:
Properly cleans, handles, disinfects and sterilizes instruments and supplies.
Works under the supervision of the ASC Manager
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
- Prepares, sterilizes, disinfects and disposes of instrumentation.
- Records daily monitoring of sterilizers.
- Assembles instrument sets including count sheets, for sterilization.
- Assists in Operating Room preparation.
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
- Arranges for equipment repair.
- Participates in Quality Assurance/Improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required:
- Maintains aseptic technique in accordance with AORN Standards and Recommended Practices.
- Minimum of one year full time employment in Central Service and Supply Processing Department.
- BLS Certification.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures
Education:
- HS Diploma or GED
Preferred:
- Certification or Health Care Supply Processing and Distributing Personnel (NICHSPOP)
