What are the responsibilities and job description for the NUCLEAR MED TECH - PER DIEM position at Toledo Clinic?
General Summary:
Performs diagnostic radionuclide exams. Works under the supervision of the Radiology Manager
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
1. Performs duties related to and required for state and NRC compliance. (i.e.: wipes incoming and outgoing cases; maintains records on wipes, etc.)
2. Orders proper radioisotope doses for diagnostic exams.
3. Records, processes, analyzes and evaluates computer image data for technical and diagnostic quality.
4. Converts and copies images for modem transfer to Radiologist.
5. Starts IV's on Nuclear Medicine patients and injects proper radioisotope.
6. Orders supplies.
7. Maintains proper care of equipment between preventative maintenance checks.
8. Reviews final reports before sending to referring physician
9. Develops appropriate protocols/procedures for exams performed.
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
10. Counts laundry and maintains ample supply in exam room on assigned days.
11. Performs offices duties/other paperwork to ensure efficient operation of the department.
12. Prepares charts and charge tickets for billing.
13. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required:
- Knowledge of Venipuncture and IV
- Understands state regulations, and knowledgeable about cardiac anatomy
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
- BLS/CPR Certified
Education/Certification:
- Education in Nuclear Medicine from an accredited school.
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through ARRT and/or NMTCB.
- State of Ohio Radiation License.
