Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Building Support staff member to join our Early Head Start classroom team. The ideal candidate will have experience in daycare, nannying, or childcare and a passion for working with young children. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations and activities within the infant toddler mixed age classroom. As a building support, your main focus will be to support the lead teachers in the classroom and create meaningful relationships with the children. We are looking for a dependable person who finds joy in watching children six weeks to 18 months experience new educational experiences. The hours are fixed at 8:30-5:00 pm Monday - Friday, with a 1/2 hour lunch break each day.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for infants toddlers
- Support the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities
- Help with feeding, diapering, and nap routines
- Engage with infants through play and educational interactions
- Assist in behavior management and fostering positive social interactions
- Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure the well-being of all children
Experience
- Prior experience in daycare, nannying, or childcare is required
- Experience working with infants or toddlers is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development and caregiving practices
- Ability to educate and engage young children in a classroom setting
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
