Role Summary
Fifth Third Field ushers deliver optimum service to fans in a friendly, pleasant, and professional manner. This position includes scanning tickets at a gate, escorting guests from the concourse, down aisles in which their seats are located, managing seating areas during the game, and serve as a source of information to all guests. Ushers will be trained to have a vast knowledge of 5/3 Field and its operating rules and regulations. This is a gameday role which includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to and aid in enforcing all Toledo Mud Hens policies and procedures.
- Inspect assigned area for any safety hazards or seating irregularities prior to opening the gates, and report any problems to your supervisor.
- Wipe down seats before gate opening, along with wiping seats for guests upon arrival.
- Face incoming guest while standing at the top of your section in or in the center of your portal.
- Provider superior guest service by greeting and assisting guests. Answer any questions that arise.
- Walk up and down the aisles between innings when appropriate.
- Constantly scan the seating areas for any injuries that may result from a foul ball, homerun ball, stray bat, slip and fall, fighting, etc. (approach guest and lend assistance).
- Scan your assigned area for cans, bottles, and any alcohol-related problems or unruly guests using profane language.
- Watch for seat jumpers to protect the integrity of the tickets.
- Keep isles clear and clean.
- Direct and control the exiting of guests in the event of an emergency evacuation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience working as an usher desired, not required.
- Ability to walk up and down the stairs.
- Ability to stand for duration of shift (approximate shift is 4-6 hours).

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Constant standing and walking for the duration of the shift.
- Frequently climbs stairs while scanning seating areas and assisting guests to their seats.
- Will work outdoors different types of weather (Ex. Rain, Hot, Cold).
- Visual acuity to scan for the threat of bats, balls, and other objects liable to be present and active.
- Constant communication with fans, must be able to exchange accurate information.
