Position Summary
The Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Drafter will have basic knowledge of blue print drawings and conversion of drawings. In addition, strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and a willingness to learn and expand knowledge in this field. Training with CAD software will be provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Once fully trained, the CAD Drafter will be able to:
- Create 2D drawings from customer supplied drawings and sketches
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes
- Translate and convert hand drawings and sketches into CAD systems
- Create CNC programs for shop burn tables using nesting software
- Read, evaluate and interpret designs and drawings
- Review blueprints, plans, specifications and other customer documentation when service is requested by sales/customer service team
- Collaborate with sales and plant supervisors on guidelines for drawings in order to meet and exceed customer’s requirements and expectations
- Assist sales department with printing drawings for quotes
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation for future reference
- Follow filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date drawings

Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associates degree or currently working towards an Associate’s degree in CAD or similar field; or combination of experience and demonstrated competency
- Experience using 2D CAD design software preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to navigate through problems to come to a reasonable solution
- Ability to focus and concentrate for extended periods of time while paying close attention to detail
- Knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures
Education and Experience
- Some college experience and/or currently working towards an Associate’s Degree in CAD or related field; or a combination of experience and demonstrated competency will be considered.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
