Key Responsibilities
- Engage with advanced CNC machinery to perform drilling, milling, and grinding operations on steel plates.
- Utilize plasma or oxygen and gas for steel cutting, ensuring alignment with customer requirements via CNC controls.
- Comprehend and execute work orders, setting up machinery to optimize quality and yield.
- Implement flame cutting for materials ranging from 1 3/8” to 10” in thickness, and manage CNC plasma operations for 1/8” to 1 1/4” thick plates.
- Employ color coding to inspect material grades accurately.
- Take and apply guidance from Plant Supervisors to uphold cutting practices and machine functionality.
- Assess cut quality and tolerances using precise measuring tools like tape measures and calipers.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and adjustments to machinery.
- Responsible for the safe operation of forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Document and carry out both pre and post-shift preventative maintenance.
- Maintain a pristine cutting surface and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Other tasks as assigned to ensure seamless operations.
