What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Manager position at Tom Thumb Food Stores?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, directs and controls all proprietary and franchise food service activities, including establishing and overseeing new proprietary food and beverage initiatives, establishing and maintaining procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing and serving of food and related products, as well as menu planning and development.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Create and develop profitable fresh foods, beverages and pre-packaged food programs which will enhance the current food and beverage programs
• Develop and execute comprehensive plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives.
• Develop training and job aids to properly and flawlessly execute all prepared food and beverage programs.
• Monitor industry trends and consumer buying habits to create new, innovative products for the Fresh Food, beverage and pre-packaged food programs
• Identify new food and beverage items and trends, equipment and/or programs to grow sales
• Develop marketing plans and initiatives to promote existing and new food and beverage programs
• Be subject matter expert and manage all franchise and branded food and beverage programs
• Complete financial responsibility and accountability for all proprietary Fresh Food, pre-packaged foods and beverages prepared on site (fountain, coffee and frozen)
• Responsible for monthly business reviews based on P & L results
REQUIREMENTS:
• A genuine enthusiasm and passion for prepared food and beverages
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3-5 years experience in convenience store food service management preferred
• QSR experience preferred
• Fresh food and beverage menu development experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make decisions in difficult situations
• Demonstrable experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
