Tom Wood Aviation, in Indianapolis, IN a premier aviation service provider, is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead and oversee maintenance operations at our state-of-the-art hangar in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate is an aviation maintenance professional with a passion for leadership and excellence.
Tom Wood Aviation is Central Indiana’s trusted Fixed Base Operator and aircraft maintenance provider, supporting private and charter aviation. We take pride in delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest safety standards in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the maintenance team, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Ensure adherence to FAA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Oversee all aircraft maintenance operations, including inspections, repairs, and scheduled maintenance, ensuring aircraft airworthiness.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a skilled team of A&P technicians and support staff.
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising safety or quality.
- Coordinate with vendors, parts suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of quality materials.
- Collaborate with the flight operations and customer service teams to meet client needs and exceed expectations.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required.
- Inspection Authorization is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead a diverse team.
- Proficiency in maintenance software and systems is a plus.
