Job Summary
TOMATO.FISH crafts high-quality pastries with a modern twist on traditional flavors. We’re a small, passionate team seeking a part-time Pastry Assistant to work on a flexible, hybrid schedule.
You’ll prepare, bake, and package 3–4 signature pastry recipes every two weeks. Key tasks include ingredient prep, pastry assembly, packaging, and ensuring food safety standards.

Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and follow taught pastry recipes with precision.
- Assemble and bake 3-4 signature pastries, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Package pastries neatly for distribution, ensuring a professional presentation.
- Collaborate on optimizing preparation processes to improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
- Package finished products for delivery or display while ensuring quality control.
Requirements:
- Valid food handler’s license and other relevant food safety certifications.
- Educational background in culinary arts or pastry-related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience in pastry preparation and baking (at least 1 year preferred).
- Attention to detail, with an ability to replicate recipes consistently.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Access to a home kitchen meeting food safety standards for preparation.
Schedule & Commitment:
- Approximately 5-10 hours of work every two weeks, spread over 2-3 days.
- Flexible schedule but must meet deadlines for preparation and packaging.
- Hybrid work arrangement: majority of tasks performed from home with occasional in-person collaboration (if applicable).
Compensation:
- $22 per hour (before tax).
- Base rate of $6/hour plus 20% profit-sharing. Average earnings based on performance and sales.
