Tome Biosciences is the programmable gene insertion company. Using CRISPR, our technologies allow us to insert any genetic sequence of any size at any location into any genome. We are writing the final chapter in genomic medicines, delivering cures to patients through cell and genome engineering.
We are looking for a highly motivated and creative Scientist to join the Human Therapeutics group. The successful candidate will work with colleagues to develop novel genetic solutions for our therapeutic programs. The environment is exciting and fast-paced and offers the opportunity to translating the next generation gene editing technologies to gene therapies. The candidate will be comfortable with learning new biology, developing new assays and making scientific presentations to a multidisciplinary team at Tome.
Key responsibilities
- Develop therapeutic candidates using molecular cloning, cell biology, and gene editing technologies
- Perform functional assays to investigate the efficacy and toxicity of novel therapeutic candidates
- Participate in experimental design, troubleshooting, and data interpretation
- Maintain familiarity with scientific literature and apply knowledge and novel approaches to research and clinical projects
- Present data within the organization
- Maintain electronic records of experiments
Qualifications
- PhD or MS in biology, human genetics, or a related field with 0-3 years of experience
- Hands-on experience in molecular cloning, and mammalian cell culture and transfection
- Experience with genome editing including CRISPR is preferred
- Must be able to prioritize and manage a high volume, demanding, fast-paced environment
- Must be organized, self-motivated, proactive, works well under pressure and deadlines, detail oriented
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
