Description

This position oversees the company's financial records and payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees while managing a team of office staff responsible for various accounting and administrative tasks, including accounts payable, receivable, and receptionist functions, while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Requirements

Payroll Processing :

  • Collecting and verifying employee timesheets
  • Calculating wages, including bonuses, commissions, and deductions
  • Processing payroll taxes and other deductions, adhering to federal and state regulations
  • Issuing paychecks or direct deposits
  • Maintaining payroll records and ensuring accuracy
  • Collaborate with the HR department on employee changes

Accounting Management :

  • Supervise the accounting team responsible for accounts payable and receivable and receptionist functions
  • Preparing financial reports and statements as necessary
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Staff Supervision :

  • Hire, train, and develop accounting and administrative staff
  • Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor performance
  • Provide coaching and feedback to improve team efficiency
  • Compliance :

  • Staying updated on payroll and tax regulations
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud
  • Conduct periodic audits and address any identified issues.
  • Administrative Tasks :

  • Maintaining employee data in payroll system
  • Handling payroll inquiries from employees
  • Collaborating with HR on new hires, terminations, and salary changes
  • Updating payroll software with relevant information
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with payroll processing and accounting principles
  • Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working Conditions / Physical Demands :

    Office Environment :

  • Primarily seated at a desk in an office setting with access to a computer and other office equipment
  • Computer Usage :

  • Extensive use of accounting and payroll software to enter, manage, and retrieve data
  • Attention to Detail :

  • Requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in calculations and data entry
  • Sitting for Extended Periods : Most of the workday involves sitting at a desk
  • Keyboard and Mouse Usage : Frequent typing and mouse clicking to input data
