Description
This position oversees the company's financial records and payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees while managing a team of office staff responsible for various accounting and administrative tasks, including accounts payable, receivable, and receptionist functions, while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
Payroll Processing :
Collecting and verifying employee timesheets
Calculating wages, including bonuses, commissions, and deductions
Processing payroll taxes and other deductions, adhering to federal and state regulations
Issuing paychecks or direct deposits
Maintaining payroll records and ensuring accuracy
Collaborate with the HR department on employee changes
Accounting Management :
Supervise the accounting team responsible for accounts payable and receivable and receptionist functions
Preparing financial reports and statements as necessary
Assist with month end closing
Staff Supervision :
Hire, train, and develop accounting and administrative staff
Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor performance
Provide coaching and feedback to improve team efficiency
Compliance :
Staying updated on payroll and tax regulations
Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud
Conduct periodic audits and address any identified issues.
Administrative Tasks :
Maintaining employee data in payroll system
Handling payroll inquiries from employees
Collaborating with HR on new hires, terminations, and salary changes
Updating payroll software with relevant information
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
Experience with payroll processing and accounting principles
Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations
Proficiency in accounting and payroll software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Good communication and interpersonal skills
