Who We’re Looking for
We’re looking for a Material Handler to be responsible for transporting materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations to support the functions of a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and detail-oriented problem-solver with a demonstrated ability to balance safety and productivity. The Material Handler will report to the Production Manager.
What you’ll be doing:
With the use of tools, your experience, and industry standards you will…
- Distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
- Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
- When problems arise, resolves issues with department supervisors and others
- Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Experience and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills preferred:
- Spreadsheet Software (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Manufacturing Software
- Project Management software
- Word Processing software (Word/Google Docs)
- Electronic Mail Software (Google)
- Presentation software (PowerPoint/Google Slides)
Desired Skills
- 1-2 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Significant forklift experience, history of having obtained OSHA compliant certification
- Good functional knowledge and adaptability to various computer systems/tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and an efficient problem solver
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
