Architectural CAD/BIM Technician
Tommy’s is looking for an Architectural CAD/BIM Technician that will be responsible for building design and detailing, assist with prototype management and bulletin execution/rolling changes. This role will work closely with our construction/ building design departments. The perfect candidate will have strong experience in architectural design and commercial construction.

Position Responsibilities:
- Develop technical construction drawings, detailing packages, shop drawings using software's such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Products.
- Travel to local construction sites to gather information for design development and continually develop technical understanding pertaining to the car wash construction process and building design.
- Work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical and system designs into architectural plans.
- Support in maintaining prototype relationships with our AE vendor partners.
- Present design concepts to stakeholders for feedback and approval
- Help with maintaining prototype design and bi-annual updates while keeping cut sheets, documentation and product guides.
- Assist with prototype change management system to coordinate and provide updates on projects
- Aid with rolling changes outside of annual prototype release cycle and produce bulletins to inform internal and external stakeholders.
- Use technical understanding to help communicate AE addendums and bulletin releases for projects in process (Non-prototype releases)
- Support project managers with incoming questions regarding building drawings, design intent, drawing related resources and scope of work.

Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes:
- Experience in Commercial Construction and/or a degree in Architecture, Building Systems Engineering required.
- Technical aptitude and capability a must; knowledge and experience in Revit/ BIM.
- Proficiency in architectural design software including AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience with (LOD) 400 fabrication-ready models and shop drawings a plus
- Ability to resolve design issues with innovation and practical solutions
- General understanding of modern commercial construction process and has worked on similar metal building projects
- Basic knowledge of MEP Design a plus
- Building envelope design experience a plus (ACM, IMP facades etc.)
- A portfolio showcasing previous work is a plus
- Must be organized and detail-oriented with the time management skills to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Displays a strong initiative and drive to identify gaps and fill them
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and operates primarily indoors with limited to no travel expectation.
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, team member must be able to:
- Work and commute in all weather conditions
- Able to effectively communicate, listen, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange information
- Able to walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, climb steps, reach with hands, use hands to fingers

- Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, alternating between sitting and standing
