Position Description
Tompkins and Associates is pleased to announce the addition of an Assessment Psychologist to provide neuropsychological and psychological assessments in our Naperville office. Tompkins and Associates is a growing private practice, which serves children, adolescents, and families.
- Part-time contractual position ideal for someone looking for a flexible hybrid position.
- The primary responsibility is to provide high quality and comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessments to a broad range of child and adolescent clients, with diverse clinical presentations.
- The ideal candidate will complete 4 to 8 assessments per month.
- Assessments are conducted in person, with all additional tasks (intake, scoring, report writing, and feedback) being conducted virtually.
- Assessments are conducted in the morning throughout the week or on weekends, depending on the Assessment Psychologist’s availability and client schedules.
- Proficiency in common assessments measures that assess cognitive, academic, developmental, adaptive, social, and emotional domains.
- Most referrals are for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, and mood/anxiety disorder.
- Typical assessment clients are seeking assistance with obtaining IEP/504 accommodations, renewal of ABA services, and diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations for other treating providers including prescribers and clinicians.
- Additional opportunity to maintain a small caseload of individual and family therapy clients is available for interested candidates.
Candidate Qualifications
Tompkins and Associates is seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with training in neuropsychological and psychological assessment.
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and active IL License
- Must be qualified to independently complete comprehensive evaluations of attention/concentration, learning disability, cognitive functioning, academic skills, autism spectrum and social functioning, and anxiety/mood functioning.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- It is expected that assessments are completed within two weeks from intake to feedback sessions with completed reports.
- The successful candidate will be comfortable working closely with parents to provide guidance on following through on recommended treatment or academic interventions.
- Must be independent in scheduling clients, case management, and have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization skills are required to maintain time management.
- Must be comfortable collaborating with other providers in the community including psychiatrists, therapists, pediatricians, and school staff.

- Preference will be given to candidates from APA accredited graduate programs and internships as well as those who have completed child and adolescent training in evidence-based practices.
Compensation
- The position is a 1099 independent contractor position with competitive compensation based on licensure and years of experience.
