Position Overview
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Art Teacher for Kids & Teens who is passionate about traditional visual arts and excels at connecting with students. The ideal candidate is lively, engaging, and skilled in creating a classroom that balances technique and creativity.
Responsibilities
- Teach drawing, painting, and mixed media to students aged 4-15 in an interactive and inspiring way.
- Foster a positive and engaging classroom where students feel encouraged to express themselves.
- Design and lead hands-on lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
- Build meaningful connections with students, making learning enjoyable.
- Maintain a well-organized, energetic, and inspiring studio environment.
- Collaborate with the TONGWOOD team to enhance curriculum and teaching strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong foundation in traditional visual arts (painting, drawing, mixed media).
- Outgoing and engaging personality—able to create a fun and dynamic classroom.
- Experience working with children and teens in an educational or studio setting.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience guiding teens in portfolio preparation.
- Multilingual ability (e.g., English Mandarin/Spanish) is a plus.
- CPR Certification (preferred but not required).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- After school
