SEASONAL PARKS LABORER
$17.23/Hour - 40 hrs./week
Here's your opportunity to line up your Spring/Summer job! Come join our parks maintenance division and be part of the team that maintains City properties and recreational facilities, and plays an important role in the logistics for our summer events and activities.
As a seasonal laborer, you will work alongside experienced maintenance workers who will help you gain practical experience in the field and teach you about the role you will play in keeping our facilities clean, safe, and beautiful.
Your work duties will vary from general clean-up, grounds maintenance, facilities upkeep, special event set-up, sprinkler repair, watering, and just about anything else that comes our way.
This job is physical in nature and primarily outdoor work. We set our summer work schedule to try to beat the heat as much as possible. Hours in the summer are generally Monday to Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. In the Fall, the hours may shift to 7:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Occasionally, there may be night or weekend shifts, and working on holidays, especially during the week of the 4th of July celebration, is also expected.

To Be Considered, Applicants Must
- Be at least 17 years old by May 1st;
- Have had one year of driving experience by May 1st;
- Possess a valid driver license and that you've had it for at least 12 months for our insurance purposes (learner's permit time doesn't count).
- Be able to work the summer schedule;
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for the work and team work;
- Demonstrate familiarity with basic hand tools and landscape equipment;
- Be able to work in the outdoor environment; and,
- Be able to perform the physical duties of the position.
