Job Description: Lead Toolmaker
- Has Experience in Die manufacturing and maintenance as it relates to sheet metal stamping dies.
- Building, debugging and maintaining various size Dies.
- Handling new Die build projects, engineering changes, rebuild dies after press malfunctions and maintaining die details to proper functioning integrity, etc.
- Operation of machines (CNC and manual equipment) as needed.
- Toolroom equipment including mills, drill presses, jig bores, grinders, lathes, etc.
- Employee will learn our specific customer and company standards.
- Read blueprints, machine, and assembly jobs.
- Work with managers to ensure the project is running smoothly and resolve any problems.
- Plan the processing of specific die details for proper flow thru the manufacturing stages and identify machining parameters for specific jobs.
- Troubleshooting in the assembly and press tryout phases of the build.
- Communication with customers as needed.
Preferred Background Profile:
- 5 years of relatable experience preferred including a history of self-led die build.
- Die tryout (press) experience.
- 2D and 3D cad experience.
- Experience in a wide range of machining materials: tool steels, mild steel, aluminum, exotic super alloys, and plastics.
- Problem-solving experience.
- GDT experience.
- Team player with ability to implement new ideas and ways to achieve top tier work.
- Creative with ability to concept tooling and tooling needs.
- Ability to build tooling from concept only.
- Skills to repair existing tooling to print specifications and tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail.

Work Hours and Compensation:
- Estimated 58k-90k annually based on experience and hours worked.
- This position is Day Shift (7 AM-5 PM) Flex start times are available.
- Overtime available.
