Job Title: Defense and Aerospace Account Executive
Reports to: Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Summary/Objective: Tooling Systems Group (TSG) is searching for a Defense and Aerospace Account Executive to develop a new prototype, stamping die, check fixture, stamped assemblies, and automation business. The Defense and Aerospace Account Executive will be highly motivated to develop and execute sales strategies and tactics that maximize TSG’s opportunity to win business. TSG is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with defense and/or aerospace business development.Qualified candidates must be US citizens.
Essential functions:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans by performing face-to-face sales calls with defense and aerospace manufacturing customers and prospects
- Identifies development potential in accounts by studying current business; develop relationships with key customer personnel; identify and evaluate additional needs; identifying opportunities
- Initiates sales process by building relationships; qualifying potential; and scheduling appointments
- Develops sales by making initial presentations; explaining product and service enhancements and additions; and introducing new products and services
- Work with our Customers’ Engineering Departments to understand their needs and provide engineered solutions to their needs
- Close sales by overcoming objections
- Contributes information to sales strategies by evaluating current product results; identifying needs to be filled; monitoring competitive products; and analyzing and relaying customer reactions
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Cold calling
Required competency, education, and experience:
- Highly motivated person who enjoys working in a team environment in fast paced industry
- Understanding of manufacturing industry with established contacts at the Defense and Aerospace OEM and Tier 1 levels
- Adept at navigating the stringent requirements of government contracts
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Goal oriented and driven to succeed
- 10 or more years’ experience in Government, defense or aerospace business development
- Engineering aptitude
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Excellent driving record
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Ability to travel regularly
- Ability to pass background check
Work environment: Remote/Office Setting. Some site visits may require exposure to manufacturing facilities.
Physical demands:
- Ability to drive a vehicle
- Ability to speak clearly and communicate with customers
Position type and expected hours of work: Full-time. Remote, hybrid, or in-office at Grand Rapids, MI headquarters is available.
Travel: 30-40% (depending on the location of the candidate)to hold face-to-face meetings with customers throughout the US.
