Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming, ensuring that pets leave looking and feeling their best. This role involves providing grooming services to a variety of pets, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and building lasting relationships with pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs and other pets.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during grooming procedures to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, tools, and equipment to meet health standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and grooming options.
- Monitor the behavior and health of pets during grooming sessions, reporting any concerns to pet owners or veterinary staff as necessary.
- Assist in kennel duties as needed, including feeding, walking, and caring for animals in the facility.
Experience
- Proven experience in pet grooming is preferred; however, we are open to training enthusiastic candidates with a strong interest in animal care.
- Skills in animal handling and restraint are essential for ensuring the safety of both the groomer and the pets.
- Familiarity with pet care practices such as bathing techniques, coat types, and basic dog training is a plus.
- Experience in veterinary settings or as a veterinary technician is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or moving equipment is necessary for this role.
