The Assistant Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting and directing various bookkeeping and accounting functions including payroll. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and proficiency in QuickBooks Online. The candidate will also support the monthly and year-end closing processes and assist with preparing financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Recording: Record and categorize financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payments, and receipts.
Payroll Processing: Process payroll bi-weekly for over 50 employees
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly, ensuring accurate records of all transactions.
QuickBooks Online Management: Utilize QuickBooks Online to enter data, manage accounts, and perform reconciliations.
Financial Record Maintenance: Ensure financial records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with company policies and procedures.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process and track incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring timely settlements and accurate documentation.
Expense and Billing Management: Monitor and verify expenses and bills to ensure proper categorization.
Month-End/Year-End Close Support: Assist with closing processes, including account reconciliation and preparation of financial reports.
Vendor and Client Coordination: Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal teams to resolve billing, payment, and accounting issues.
Team Management: Lead a team of accounting specialists including training, coaching, and reviewing daily work.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software.
Proficiency in processing payroll for over 50 employees
2 years team management experience
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Previous experience in a similar bookkeeping or administrative role.
