Overview:
We are seeking a community-minded Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, enhancement, and maintenance of infrastructure that supports the communities we live in. This role involves planning, designing, and overseeing construction for a range of projects, including commercial sites and subdivisions. Ideal candidates will have experience in stormwater management, water/wastewater systems, sewer systems (including pump stations), roadway design, and grading. Responsibilities:
Use design software and drawing tools to create and communicate plans for water infrastructure, sanitary sewer systems, roadway improvements, transportation projects, and more.
Perform civil design analysis and calculations according to project specifications.
Plan projects by analyzing materials, including drawings, maps, survey reports, and topographical data.
Prepare and present reports such as stormwater reports, right-of-way descriptions, and project updates.
Attend municipal meetings and public hearings as needed.
Estimate project costs, including materials, equipment, and labor.
Coordinate with local agencies for project permitting.
Perform other tasks necessary to ensure the successful completion of public works projects.
Education & Skills:
A four-year degree in Civil Engineering is required.
At least four years of related experience, including proficiency in AutoCAD and experience working with planners, developers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
A professional engineering license in the state of Maryland is preferred, or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months of employment.
