Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership:
- Manage municipal engineering projects, including road rehabilitation, stormwater management, utility design, and land development reviews.
- Oversee capital improvement projects for public sector clients, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate technical development, scheduling, and resolution of design and construction issues.
- Assist in preparing work proposals, establishing project budgets, and developing construction cost estimates.
- Track project progress from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Review and approve project shop drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Oversee the preparation and review of engineering sketches, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
Client Support & Public Engagement:
- Collaborate with engineering consultants, government agencies, and contractors on project planning, design, and permitting.
- Represent clients at municipal planning, zoning, and land-use board meetings.
- Communicate project goals, updates, and outcomes to stakeholders, including public officials and community members.
- Review and evaluate municipal development applications in compliance with municipal codes and regulations.
- Attend project meetings with clients and provide regular project updates.
- Prepare and present monthly reports for client review.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical skill development and professional growth.
Business Development:
- Participate in marketing initiatives to maintain client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PE license in New Jersey required.
- Additional certifications (CME, CFM, PP) preferred.
- 10 years of experience in municipal engineering, infrastructure project management, or land development design.
- Strong background in site development and public testimony before land use boards is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; GIS and Hydroflow experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent clients and engage with stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills to manage teams and coordinate with external partners.
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
